FAQ's

What happens if I can’t make my booking?

If you, or some of your party cannot make your booking, please let us know as far in advance as possible. We operate a 48-hour rescheduling policy, so if you provide notice beyond this timeframe, we will happily reschedule your booking. We do not offer refunds or partial refunds for any missing players.

Do I need to bring my booking confirmation with me?

No, we have all your booking information at reception, just let us know your party name on arrival.

Can I bring children?

Absolutely! But we ask that under 18s are out of the venue by 8pm midweek and 6pm at weekends. Please note children must be aged 12+ years to play darts.

Is Bowlarama wheelchair accessible?

Yes, Bowlarama is a fully accessible venue, with lift access to our 1st floor and ramp access to the bowling lanes. Our ground floor is fully accessible.

Can I visit just for drinks or food?

Yes. We have a fully stocked bar serving draught, canned and bottled beers, cocktails, mocktails, milkshakes, soft and hot drinks. Food service is available on the 1st floor of the venue. Both our food and drinks menu are available to view on this website.

Do I have to book in advance?

Walk-ins are welcome. However, we cannot guarantee a game slot and recommend booking to avoid disappointment, especially at weekends.

How long does it take to play a game?

For bowling and batting, we allot 10 minutes per player per game, so 2 players will have a 20-minute slot, 6 bowlers a 60-minute slot and so on. This is slightly longer than the average time it takes to play and allows us a few minutes to prepare the lane for the party following you. AR Darts can be booked in 30-minute blocks. We recommend 30 minutes for 1-3 players and 60 minutes for 4-6 players.

Can you accommodate a large party?

You can book a party of up to 12 players online. If you want to bring a larger party call us on 0141 553 1100.

I have a booking but want to add more players. How do I do this?

Call us on 0141 553 1100 and we’ll see if it’s possible to add the extra players.

What is the dress code?

We are a family venue so all we ask is that you dress appropriately and remove any caps, visors, hoods or helmets. No football colours or strips are to be worn in the venue.

Can you decorate for my birthday party/event?

As a considerable proportion of our guests are celebrating, we ask that you arrange this yourself and we’ll help when appropriate.

Can I play in my own shoes?

Flat-soled and closed-toe shoes are perfectly fine for all activities, although it will be at the receptionist’s discretion. We have bowling shoes for those who wish to change.

How old do you have to be to play?

We welcome bowlers and batters of all ages as long as they are strong and fit enough to safely enjoy their time on the lanes and in the cages. Please note children have to be aged 12+ to play AR darts.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes. Check our more info pages for details.

Can I make a booking and pay on the day?

Activity-only bookings must be paid for in full at the time of reservation. Packages require a £10 per person deposit and must be paid in full at least 2 weeks before the booking date.

Can I have the bumpers up when bowling?

Bumpers are only available to use for children or those with special requirements.

I am running late; will this affect my booking?

If you are more than 10 minutes late, you forfeit your original booking time. Our staff will do their best to get you playing on the next available slot. Please be aware that on busier days this may not be possible.

Do I need to bring ID?

We operate a Challenge 25 policy with a valid Driver’s License or Passport being required for the purchase of alcohol at the bar, and at the door for entry during adults-only hours. We do not accept Young Scot Cards.
